What we believe

Statement of Faith

The beliefs that shape everything we teach. We believe:

  • In the one true and living God, the creator of heaven and earth, who is revealed to us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • Christ is divine, the only Lord and Saviour who can save us (Acts 4:12).
  • Christ was born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:26–28).
  • All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (2 Timothy 3:16), and holy men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21).
  • In the Holy Spirit, the divine Comforter (John 14:16, 15:26).
  • Until His second coming, all Christians have a duty to make sure the Great Commission is fulfilled (Matthew 28:18–20).
  • Salvation is a gift of God's grace and not by works (John 1:12; Romans 10:9–10; Ephesians 2:8).
  • In baptism by immersion (Matthew 3:13–17; Mark 1:9–11).
  • In regeneration and the new birth through the acceptance of the gospel (John 3:1–7; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
  • Immortality and eternal life are gifts of God, received through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23; John 3:16).
  • There will be a resurrection of the dead (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).
  • The just shall live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17).
  • In the support of the gospel through tithes and offerings (Leviticus 27:30, 32; Malachi 3:8–12).
  • In the ordinance of humility and the Lord's Supper (John 13:4–17; 1 Corinthians 11:23–30).
  • In the gift of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:11–12) and the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23).
  • In discarding all immoral, unhealthy and unspiritual practices, including narcotics, intoxicants and tobacco (Proverbs 20:1, 21:17, 23:20–21, 29–35; Isaiah 5:11; 1 Corinthians 3:16–17; Ephesians 5:18).
