Who we are
Celestial Church of Christ, Elephant & Castle Parish ("the parish", "we", "us"), Celestial House, 187 Glengall Road, London SE15 6RS, Registered Charity 280611.

The short version
The app collects nothing at all. The website counts visits and shows you a map and a countdown, which involves your device talking to Squarespace, Google, and POWR. We have no sign-up, no accounts, no mailing list, and no contact form anywhere — if you want to reach us, you telephone or email us directly, and that is handled like any other message to the parish office.
Part one: the website
Our website is built on Squarespace, who host it for us and act as our data processor.
Counting visits
Squarespace records that a page was viewed, so we can see roughly how many people visit and which pages are popular. To do this it stores two small files on your device, called ss_cvr and ss_cvt. They let Squarespace tell a repeat visit from a first one. We see only totals and never anything identifying you.
A third file, crumb, is a security measure that keeps the site working properly. It is not used to track anything.

You can delete these at any time in your browser settings, and block them entirely if you prefer. The site works fine without the two counting ones.
Other companies your browser contacts
Some parts of our pages are provided by other companies. When your browser loads them, it necessarily tells those companies your IP address and some basic details about your device. We do not send them anything else, and we receive nothing about you in return.

POWR provides the countdown on our home page.
Squarespace hosts the site itself.
Each of these has its own privacy policy, which governs what they do with what they see.
Giving
Our giving page hands you over to PayPal to make a payment. Once you are on PayPal's pages, you are dealing with PayPal, and their privacy policy applies — not this one. We never see or store your card or bank details. What we receive from PayPal is a record of the donation so the parish can account for it, and so we can claim Gift Aid where you have told us to.
Links to other places
Our pages link out to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and elsewhere. Following one of those takes you out of our care and into theirs.
What the website does not do
There is no contact form, no newsletter sign-up, no account, and no login anywhere on the site. We do not advertise, and we do not use advertising or social-media tracking of any kind.
Part two: the CCC Harvest app
The app collects nothing about you whatsoever. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics. It does not send any information about you to us or to anyone else. Nothing you do in the app leaves your phone.
What it stores on your phone
One thing: the list of events you have starred in the programme, so your selection is still there when you reopen the app.
This is stored only on your own device, as a list of event identifiers such as 2026-09-13-thanksgiving. It contains no personal information — not your name, not your contact details, not your location. We cannot see it. It is not backed up to us or sent anywhere.
Deleting the app removes it. You can also clear it by unstarring the events.
What the app does not do
To be specific, the app does not:
ask you to create an account or sign in
ask for your name, email address, or telephone number
use analytics, tracking, advertising, or crash-reporting services
contain any third-party tracking software
request or use your location
access your camera, microphone, photos, or contacts
send notifications
make any network connection of its own — the programme, the fonts, and every image are built into the app and work with no signal at all
When you leave the app
Some buttons hand you over to another app on your phone:
Get directions opens your maps app with the church's address
the telephone number opens your phone app
the email address opens your mail app
the website link opens your browser
We pass across only the church's own details — the address we are sending you to, our phone number, our email address. We never pass anything about you. Once you are in that other app, its own privacy policy applies. In particular, your maps app decides for itself what it does with your location; we neither ask for it nor receive it.
What Apple and Google collect
Separately from us, the App Store and Google Play collect their own information when you download or update an app — things like download counts and crash reports. That is governed by Apple's and Google's privacy policies, not this one. We see it only as anonymous totals, never as anything identifying a person.
Both
Contacting the parish
If you telephone or email us, we keep your message so we can reply and so we have a record of parish business. That is handled under the parish's ordinary practices rather than by the website or the app. Please ask the office if you would like to know more.
Children
Both the website and the app are suitable for all ages, and the app is rated 4+. Because we collect nothing from anyone through the app, we collect nothing from children through it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal information an organisation holds about you — to see it, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted.
We hold no personal information collected through the app. What the website holds is limited to the anonymous visit counts described above, which cannot be traced back to you. If you think we hold something about you and would like to see it or have it removed, contact the parish office and we will look into it.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change what the website or the app does, we will update this policy and change the date at the top. Material changes will be announced at the parish.
